Brandtrack has agreements with most of the collective management organizations worldwide. The licenses covered by Brandtrack are those necessary to store and reproduce musical content.
Do I Have to Pay Anything Besides the Brandtrack Monthly Fee?
If you are in the USA or Canada, the Brandtrack monthly fee covers 100% of the necessary licenses to store, reproduce, and publicly communicate the musical content. This means you would only be paying the Brandtrack monthly fee.
In other countries, payment to collective management organizations for the public communication of musical content does not depend on the provider you use, as the entities do not allow music ambiance platforms to collect these licenses on their behalf. Therefore, you will need to pay this fee directly to the corresponding organization.
What Alternatives Do I Have If I Don't Want to Pay Collective Management Organizations?
Except in the United States and Canada, you have the option to work with alternative catalogs. This means working with musical works by authors who have signed exclusive licenses with individual management companies or entities.
At Brandtrack, we work with an alternative catalog provided by Soundreef, an independent management entity that signs exclusively with independent artists, offering an alternative catalog with greater legal guarantees.
As a management entity, they have the same powers as collective management organizations. This means that by working with their catalog, local collective management societies are not authorized to collect fees for public communication. And if this were to happen, Soundreef provides the necessary documentation and legal support to help you respond to any demands without issue.
